Philosophy: Keep it simple, let the wood do the talking, build it to last

I have been building, finishing, and repairing furniture both full and part time since 1976. My love of woodworking started with carving neckerchief slides for my cub scouts uniform.
(I still have one left from those days)
I worked at Good Stuff Furniture in Webster Groves, MO for 10 years in the 70's and 80's and honed my skills building both wood and laminate furniture. Since the late 1980's I have been designing and building on my own.
From the 1976-2006 I was very fortunate to have a friend and mentor William (Bill) Tombrink a "master woodworker" and owner of the original "Furniture Works" in St. Louis. Bill was very well respected for his quality restoration of fine antiques many of which are in historic homes throughout St. Louis. Bill taught me about joinery and construction (what works, what doesn't), finishing and repairing. I am forever grateful to him for his time, lessons and insights.
Today my passion is to design and build contemporary furniture and other pieces that strike my fancy. I also use the skills I have learned over the past 30 years to help those that wish to restore older peices that have special meaning to them
